Tobi Schwartz-Cassell, Editor-in-ChiefTobi Schwartz-Cassell has been writing professionally for over three decades in both the print and broadcast media.

Tobi established her firm The Word Source, LLC in 2003, specializing in strategic concepts and content for brochures, newsletters, websites, press releases, direct mail letters and ads. The editor of Girlfriendz Magazine is also the co-author of the book “Adding Value to Long-Term Care,” published by Jossey-Bass/Wiley. She has authored numerous articles for consumer magazines and national trade journals.

Having spent 20 years in broadcasting, the bulk of which as a newscaster at WWDB-FM, Philadelphia, she is best known for her appearances on “Fridays with Frank” with Sid Mark. She was also a reporter and news anchor at WPEN-AM, Philadelphia; and has hosted several cable TV and call-in talk shows.

Other credits include broadcast copywriting and production; and extensive work in retail advertising, cross-promotion advertising and trade association publications.

Her ability to grasp information, extract what’s most crucial, then compose compelling copy, earned her The 2006 Communicator Award and The 2007, 2008 and 2009 Hermes Creative Award.

An honors graduate from Rowan University, Tobi earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with a minor in Advertising.

Tobi and her husband Stan Cassell have two children, and share their home with two cats and two dogs. Both Tobi and Stan are active volunteers for the Animal Welfare Association in Voorhees, and Tobi is a member of several humane and vegetarian societies.
